The Four Nations Tour - August 2009
With the Euro being so strong this year we planned a tour with a difference. Ten Club members gathered in Caernarfon for an relaxing evening prior to heading for Holyhead and the Stena HSS Service to Dun Laoghaire.

The Irish Sea failed to live up to it’s reputation on both crossing and the sun welcomed us on our arrival in Ireland.  Our first night was in Carlow, Co Carlow.  This allowed for an easy day’s riding through the Wicklow Mountains. Visiting Glendalough at  the weekend was witness to the popularity the area now enjoys!

Galway on the west coast was our base to enjoy Connemarra and The  Burren. The rain en-route to the hotel not dampening our enjoyment of a delightful pub to shelter from the elements.

Northward through the counties of Mayo and Sligo the stunning scenery and quiet roads welcomed us with sunshine. Our base for two nights at Belleek was back in Northern Ireland and respite from the strong Euro. Two more nights followed this based in Carnlough on the Antrim coast and the wonderful coast road from Portrush to Larne.

Our tour finished heading back across to Stranraer again via Stena HSS on the Bank Holiday weekend. This allowed us to join the IMTC August  Bank Holiday fixture at Carrutherstown.
